On our second day in Italy, after the short morning visit to Garda lake and Sirmione, the plan was to visit Verona. Veronais the second largest city in Veneto region and the third largest in northeast Italy. It's indeed a lovely and very lively city, with really pretty architecture, smart blend of ancient and modern, a lot of restaurants and coffee shops, a lot of fashion shops... Yet it seems that Verona is mostly famous for being the romantic setting of William Shakespeare’s "Romeo and Juliet". House of Juliet is here, and her well-known balcony. Large Roman amphitheater is also here...

Našeg drugog dana u Italiji, nakon kratke jutarnje posete jezeru Garda i mestu Sirmione, plan je bio da posetimo Veronu. Verona je drugi po veličini grad u regiji Veneto i treći najveći grad u severnoistočnoj Italiji. Zaista je privlačan i živahan grad, sa lepom arhitekturom, veštom mešavinom antičkog i modernog, sa puno restorana i kafića, i naravno mnoštvom brendiranih radnji... Ipak čini se da je Verona najpoznatija kao romantična lokacija gde se odvijala radnja čuvene Šekspirove drame "Romeo i Julija". Julijina kuća je ovde, kao i njen famozni balkon. Veliki rimski amfiteatar je takođe ovde...

It's the third largest amphitheater in Italy, and we all know the biggest one is Rome's Colosseum. Our last day in Italy began with a visit to Padua (Padova). Padua is the third largest city in the province of Veneto, located about 40km from Venice. It used to be an agricultural village called Padovinium, and its present name got in the late fourth century.
Padua is worldwide known as the university city. University of Padua was built here in 1222. This is the second oldest European University, and one of the most famous lecturers was Galileo Galilei...

Naš poslednji dan u Italiji je započeo posetom Padovi. Padova je treći najveći grad u pokrajini Veneto, udaljen nekih 40km od Venecije. Ranije je to bilo poljoprivredno selo pod imenom Padovinium, dok današnje ime dobija krajem četvrtog veka.

Padova je širom sveta poznata kao univerzitetski grad. Ovde je 1222. izgrađen Univerzitet Padove koji je po starosti drugi evropski univerzitet, a jedan od čuvenih predavača je bio Galileo Galilej...

Almost a century was needed to complete the internal walls of Padua. In good condition to this day are 11km of medieval walls, yet from the original 14 towers only two have survived.
Unfortunately, the day when we visited Padua the marathon was organized and the central part of the city, where the prettiest tourist attractions are located, was closed. So we were not able to see perhaps the most beautiful part of the city- Prato della Valle, which is the main square.

Skoro čitav jedan vek je bio potreban da se završe unutrašnje zidine Padove. U dobro očuvanom stanju i dan danas je 11km srednjovekovnih zidina, ali od 14 prvobitnih toranja samo dva su sačuvana.

Na svu žalost dana kada smo mi posetili Padovu bio je organizovan maraton, i centralni deo grada gde se nalaze divne turističke znamenitosti je bio zatvoren. Tako da nismo uspeli da vidimo možda i najlepši deo grada- Prato della Valle koji je glavni trg.

I truly am sorry that we failed to see everything we planned, but at least we stroll through the city on a sunny day. We saw Piazza dei Signori and the astronomical clock, Piazza delle Erbe with the Palace of Reason (Palazzo della Ragione), beautiful Basilica of St. Anthony, we even managed to sit and drink a cappuccino (I used the time to pop over to another Kiko store and Zara). And finally, we headed towards the town called Vicenza...

Žao mi je sto nismo uspeli sve planirano da vidimo, ali makar smo se prošetali gradom po sunčanom danu. Videli smo Trg Gospode (Piazza dei Signori) gde se nalazi astronomski sat, Trg Erbe sa Palatom Razuma (Palazzo della Ragione), lepu Baziliku Svetog Antonija, čak smo ugrabili koji trenutak da popijemo kapućino (ja sam iskoristila vreme da skoknem i do još jedne Kiko radnje i Zare). I na kraju svega, krenuli u pravcu gradića zvanog Vicenza...

After a morning visit to the city of Padua (read about that here), around noon we went to Vicenza. Visiting this, in my opinion, extremely charming little town marked the end of our fast but incredibly eventful 72-hour tour of the northeastern part of Italy. Vicenza is, due to the richness of the cultural heritage, on the UNESCO list, and many call it "a pearl of Renaissance". Historical center and everything that symbolizes Vicenza is located inside the medieval walls that have been preserved to this day. Exactly in this part we've spent a couple of hours strolling down the streets on a sunny day...

Nakon jutarnje posete gradu Padova (pročitajte o tome ovde), oko podneva krenuli smo ka Vićenci. Poseta ovom, po mom mišljenju, izuzetno šarmantnom gradiću označavala je kraj naše brze ali neverovatno sadržajne 72-časovne ture severno-istočnim delom Italije. Vićenca se zbog bogatstva kulturne baštine nalazi na UNESCO listi, a mnogi je nazivaju i "perlom renesanse". Istorijski centar i sve ono što simboliše Vićencu se nalazi unutar srednjovekovnih zidina koje su sačuvane i do dan danas. Upravo u tom jezgru smo i mi proveli neka tri sata šetajući uličicama po sunčanom danu...

The man who is "responsible" for Vicenza's look is famous Renaissance architect Andrea Palladio who also built 23 villas around the town. Interesting fact: the houses that are shown in the film "Gone With the Wind" were built after the designs of Palladio. 

Čovek koji je zadužen za izgled Vićence je čuveni renesansni arhitekta Andrea Paladio koji je izgradio i 23 vile oko samog grada. Zanimljivost: kuće koje su prikazane u filmu "Prohujalo sa vihorom" su sagradjene baš po nacrtima Paladia.

One of the most famous and most beautiful buildings is Palladian Basilica (Basilica Palladiana), which is considered to be a symbol of Vicenza. It's located on Piazza dei Signori (most Italian cities have their own squares called Piazza dei Signori), which is the center of all gatherings and the heart of the city. On the roof of the basilica is a terrace with a beautiful panoramic view of the whole Vicenza, and also one coffee bar that is opened during the spring and summer. Drinking coffee and enjoying the view surrounded by unique architecture- is there anything nicer?

Jedna od najpoznatijih i najlepših gradjevina je Bazilika Paladiana(Basilica Palladiana), po mnogima simbol Vićence. Nalazi se na Trgu Gospode odnosno Piazza dei Signori (većina italijanskih gradova ima sopstveni Trg Gospode) koji je središte svih okupljanja i srce samog grada. Na krovu ove bazilike se nalazi terasa sa koje se pruža predivan panoramski pogled na čitavu Vićencu, a na kojoj postoji i kafe bar otvoren tokom proleća i leta. Pijete kafu i uživate u pogledu okruženi jedinstvenom arhitekturom- ima li šta lepše?

Olympic Theater (Teatro Olimpico) is the latest masterpiece of architect Palladio and he built it inspired by the ancient Greek and Roman theaters. Today, this theater hosts many musical events and festivals.

Olimpijski teatar (Teatro Olimpico) je poslednje remek-delo arhitekte Paladia, i sagradjen je po uzoru na antičke grčke i rimske teatre. Danas se u unutrašnjosti ovog teatra održavaju brojni muzički dogadjaji i festivali.

And after all, in the late afternoon hours we all gathered as it was time to go back to Serbia. I think this tour might be the most beautiful one for me, at least until now. Most probably thanks to the richness of the program and generally lack of time, which was completely suitable as I adore active vacations and tours! So we finished with northeastern part of Italy and now it's time to visit her other parts...

I nakon svega, u kasnim popodnevnim časovima krenuli smo nazad, ka Srbiji. Mislim da je meni ova tura bila možda i najlepša, barem do sada. Verovatno zbog bogatog sadržaja i generalno manjka vremena, što je u potpunosti odgovaralo jer ja volim aktivne odmore i turističke programe! Završili smo sa obilaskom severno-istočnog dela Italije, i sad je vreme za obilazak drugih njenih delova...

One Sunday I spent visiting three Serbian monasteries: Ravanica, Saint Roman and Djunis. Of these, the most famous monastery is Ravanica near Cuprija, known as endowment of Prince Lazar who was buried here. Monastery of Saint Roman, located on the right bank of the South Morava River, is one of the oldest monasteries in Serbia. Djunis, near Krusevac, is the monastery for nuns known for its spring of holy water which is believed to have healing properties.
Monasteries and churches are fascinating to me primarily because of their aesthetic appeal, and in comparison with other countries Serbia definitely has some of the most beautiful Orthodox churches. See below the pictures of these three monasteries...

Jedan nedeljni dan provela sam u obilasku tri srpska manastira, a to su Ravanica, Sveti Roman i Djunis. Od njih najpoznatiji manastir je Ravanica u blizini Ćuprije, inače zadužbina kneza Lazara koji je ovde sahranjen. Manastir Sveti Roman, koji se nalazi na desnoj obali Južne Morave, je jedan od najstarijih manastira na prostoru Srbije za kojeg je vezano verovanje o ostvarenju svih želja. Manastir Djunis, u blizini Kruševca, je ženski manastir poznat po izvoru svete vode za koju se veruje da leči.

Meni su iskreno manastiri i crkve fascinantni pre svega zbog estetskog izgleda, a u poredjenju sa ostalim državama Srbija definitivno ima jedne od najlepših pravoslavnih crkava. Pogledajte u nastavku slike sva tri manastira...

Almost every tourist visit to Vienna, starts exactly here- at the large public square of Maria Theresa (Maria Theresien Platz)! One of the most beautiful city squares surrounded by green gardens, is known for two museums which are often called "the twins" because they are identical. These two museums are Natural History Museum and Art History Museum, located opposite one another, on the left and right side of the monument built in the honor of Austrian Empress.

Skoro svaka turistička poseta gradu Beč, započinje upravo ovde- na prostranom trgu Marije Terezije (Maria Theresien Platz)! Jedan od najlepših gradskih trgova okružen zelenim vrtovima, poznat je po dva muzeja koja često nazivaju i "blizanci" jer su identični. Ta dva muzeja su Prirodnjački muzej i Istorijsko-umetnički muzej, i nalaze se jedan nasuprot drugog, sa leve i desne strane spomenika čuvene austrijske carice.

Marija Terezija je bila jedna od najmoćnijih žena sveta, poslednji član dinastije Habzburg i jedina žena koja je vladala Habzburškom monarhijom. U svom poznatom reformatorskom duhu jednom je rekla: "Dok drugi rat ratuju, ti se, sretna Austrijo, ženi!". A ja sam je upamtila po tome što je izrodila 6 ćerki i 10 sinova...

Below you can see some pictures of a location, which is pure contrast to other parts of the city, at least in architectural terms. It is a so-called Hundertwasserhaus, designed by modern artist Friedensreich Hundertwasser which is today the apartment house...

Just across the famous Maria Theresa Square (Maria Theresien Platz) which you could read about here, is a marvelous Hofburg Palace. This former imperial palace is one of the most important historical symbols of Vienna, and also the place where the Habsburg dynasty rulers were living during the colder periods of the year. So this was their winter residence, while Schönbrunn palace was their summer residence.

Odmah prekoputa čuvenog Trga Marije Terezije (Maria Theresien Platz) o kojem ste mogli pročitati ovde, nalazi se raskošna Hofburg palata. Nekadašnja carska palata je jedan od najbitnijih istorijskih simbola Beča, gde su tokom hladnijeg dela godine živeli pripadnici i vladari Habzburške dinastije. Dakle ovo im je bila zimska rezidencija, dok su kao letnju rezidenciju koristili Schönbrunn (Šenbrun) palatu.

Hofburn palace was built in the 13th century, yet reconstructed so many times. It is considered one of the largest palace complexes in the whole world, and consists of many gardens, squares, monuments and buildings (around 18 wings)...

Hofburn palata je sagradjena u 13-om veku, i bezbroj puta do sada rekonstruisana. Smatra se jednim od najvećih kompleksa palata u čitavom svetu, i u svom sastavu ima brojne vrtove, dvorišta, trgove, spomenike i zgrade (oko 18 krila)...

Among the most visited and most popular parts of the imperial palace are: the Museum Sisi dedicated to temperamental and authentic Queen Elizabeth, Imperial Library (today the National library), the Albertina, the Church of St. Augustine, the Spanish Riding School, Amalienburg (Amalia is the oldest residence), the Court treasury, National Theater (Burgtheater)... And today here is the official residence and office of the President of Austria.

Medju najposećenijim i najpoznatijim delovima carske palate su: Muzej Sisi posvećen temperamentnoj i autentičnoj kraljici Elizabeti, Carska biblioteka (danas Nacionalna bibilioteka), Albertina, Crkva Svetog Avgustina, Španska škola jahanja, Amalienburg (Amalija je najstarija rezidencija), Dvorska riznica, Nacionalni teatar (Burgtheater)... A danas se ovde nalazi zvanična rezidencija i kancelarija predsednika Austrije.

Unfortunately detailed tour of the Hofburg Palace was not planned, so we just passed through the main external parts and continued our pedestrian tour. Luckily I always manage to take pictures of the most important...;)

Na svu žalost, detaljnije razgledanje Hofburg palate nije bilo planirano, tako da smo samo prošli kroz glavne spoljašnje delove i nastavili našu šetališnu turu. Srećom ja uvek uspem da uslikam najbitnije...;)

Hands down, this is by far the best face mask I've used. Yes, in my whole life! It's the face mask I put on when I want to give myself a special treatment, especially when I feel a bit down. Plus it's definitely the most amusing one to use! Let me explain...

Bez ikakve nedoumice, ovo je najbolja maska za lice koju sam do sada koristila. Da, tokom čitavog života! To je maska za lice koju stavim kada želim da sebi pružim specijalan tretman, naročito kada se osećam neraspoloženo. Plus definitivno je i najzabavnija za korišćenje! Pojasniću...

Premier Dead Sea "Miracle noir magnetic mask" contains Dead Sea mud and minerals, and then some vitamins, liposome and oxygen. Every time I use this mask my skin looks plump, glowy, super soft and soooooo smooth. And I absolutely adore how easy you remove it!

Premier Dead Sea "Miracle noir magnetic mask" sadrži blato i minerale iz Mrtvog mora, kao i neke vitamine, lipozome i kiseonik. Svaki put kada koristim ovu masku moja koža izgleda blistavo, super meko i takoooooo glatko- sve linijice su popunjene! I apsolutno obožavam što se vrlo lako uklanja!

So you put a mask on a clean face, leave it for 10-15 minutes. Then comes the funny part I was telling you about: you wrap a black block in a tissue paper and you move it along the face. That block acts like a real magnet, and it pulls away the mud mask from the face with such an ease. Afterwards you clean the face with some cotton and cleansing milk or micellar water. There you have- fantastic idea and suggestion for a luxurious spa day at home!

Dakle stavite masku na očišćeno lice, ostavite je 10-15 minuta. Zatim sledi zabavan deo o kojem sam vam pričala: umotate crni blok u papir (kuhinjski papir ili toalet papir) i povlačite njime po licu. Taj blok se ponaša kao pravi magnet i bukvalno vuče masku od blata sa lica sa neverovatnom lakoćom. Nakon toga očistite lice tuferom i mlekom za čišćenje ili micelarnom vodom. Eto vam jedne fantastične ideje i preporuke za luksuzan spa dan kod kuće!

On the first day in Vienna, after a short pedestrian sightseeing tour of Maria Theresa Square and the Hofburg palace, we had the afternoon off. Although it was cloudy and very cold (which I personally can not stand), there were some other buildings close to the first "ring" that I wanted to see, because each of them represents the symbol of the Austrian capital...
Some of them are: The Austrian Parliament Building inspired by the style of the ancient Greece with the statue of the goddess Athena; Rathaus building built in a distinctive and attractive Gothic style which is now the seat of the local government of Vienna; beautiful St Stephen's Cathedral (Stephansdom) also built in the Gothic style which is today the main Catholic church and the seat of the Archbishop of Vienna... See below the pictures of these pretty buildings!

Prvog dana u Beču, nakon kratke šetališne ture i razgledanja Trga Marije Terezije kao i Hofburg palate, imali smo slobodno popodne. Iako je bilo oblačno i vrlo hladno (sto ja lično ne podnosim), postojale su jos neke zgrade i gradjevine u blizini prvog "ringa" koje sam htela izbliza da vidim jer svaka od njih predstavlja simbol austrijske prestonice...

Neke od njih su: zgrada Austrijskog Parlamenta inspirisana stilom antičke Grčke sa statuom boginje Atine; Rathaus zgrada sagradjena u prepoznatljivom i vrlo atraktivnom gotičkom stilu koja je sada sedište lokalne uprave Beča; prelepa katedrala Svetog Stefana(Stephansdom) takodje sagradjena u gotičkom stilu koja je danas glavna katolička crkva u Beču i sedište nadbiskupije... Last day in Vienna, really really cold one. Officially the day planned for the visit of the imperial Schönbrunn Palace. Anyway as we had to go by bus to a certain location, we were passing next to the Belvedere Palace which is located in the third ring and fortunately decided to stop for quick 15 minutes to take a few photos. I say fortunately because it's such a beautiful sight. I can only imagine how magnificent must be in the spring and summer when the fountains are working and the gardens are full of greenery and colorful flowers!

Poslednji dan u Beču, zaista zaista hladan. Zvanično i dan planiran za posetu carskoj Schönbrunn palati. Elem kako smo morali ići autobusom do odredjene lokacije, prolazili smo i pored Belvedere palate koja se nalazi u trećem cirku i srećom odlučili da svratimo na brzih 15 minuta da vidimo izbliza. Kazem srećom jer je predivan prizor. Mogu samo zamisliti kako je veličanstveno u proleće i leto kada fontane rade i kada su vrtovi puni zelenila i raznobojnog cveća!

Somehow the best is always left for the end. So this short tour of Vienna city we ended with a visit to the famous Schönbrunn palace. The beautiful baroque palace together with its gardens is on the UNESCO list and it's the most visited tourist location of Vienna (in 2017 more than 3.5 million tourists visited the palace). I have already mentioned Schönbrunn palace, which is known as the summer residence of Austrian rulers, when I wrote about the Hofburg palace.

Najbolje se nekako uvek ostavlja za kraj. Tako da smo i mi ovu kratku turu grada Beč završili posetom i obilaskom čuvene Schönbrunn (Šenbrun) palate. Predivna barokna palata se zajedno sa svojim vrtovima nalazi na UNESCO listi i najposećenija je turistička lokacija Beča (u 2017-oj godini je posetilo vise od 3.5 miliona turista). Ovu palatu sam već spominjala kada sam pisala o Hofburg palati, te sam napomenula da je Schönbrunn bila letnja rezidencija austrijskih vladara. 

The official tour begins with a tour of the interior rooms, in a precise order. Usually there are two types of tours, "Grand" and "Imperial", and they differ in the number of rooms that are included in the tour. "Imperial" tour includes 22 rooms where you can see for example the private apartments of Franz Joseph and Queen Elisabeth called Sisi. "Grand" tour includes also the rooms (40 rooms) that date from the time of Maria Theresa, and for this tour you need approximately one hour. From all the rooms my favorites are Great gallery and Small gallery with mirrors and ornate golden decoration, which irresistibly remind me on the Palace of Versailles and The Hall of Mirrors... Of course taking photos isn't permitted inside, so no pictures this time...:) 

Tura započinje obilaskom unutrašnjih prostorija, po tačno odredjenom redosledu. Obično postoje dve vrste tura, to su "Grand" i "Imperial", a razlikuju se po broju prostorija koje su uključene u turu. "Imperial" tura obuhvata obilazak 22 sobe gde se mogu videti recimo privatni apartmani Franca Jozefa i kraljice Elizabete zvane Sisi. "Grand" tura obuhvata i prostorije (oko 40) koje datiraju iz vremena Marije Terezije, i za nju treba odvojiti oko sat vremena. Meni su od svih prostorija u najlepšem sećanju ostale Velika i Mala galerija sa ogledalima i kitnjastom zlatnom dekoracijom koje me neodoljivo podsećaju na Versajsku palatu i njenu Dvoranu ogledala... Naravno slikanje unutra nije dozvoljeno, tako da nema slika ovoga puta...:)

After visiting the interior of the palace, we decided to take a walk and see its well known gardens. Unfortunately it was a short walk because it was extremely cold. The rest of the free time we spent in a pleasant atmosphere of a cafe-restaurant "Residenz" drinking cappuccino and learning how they make the famous apple strudel... 

Nakon obilaska unutrašnjeg dela palate, usledila je šetnja vrtovima. Doduše kratka šetnja jer je bilo izuzetno hladno. Ostatak slobodnog vremena proveli smo u prijatnom ambijentu kafe-restorana "Residenz" ispijajući cappuccino i gledajući kako se pravi čuvena štrudla sa jabukama...
